PRONOUNCIATION AND ENUNCIATION OF IBANAG LANGUAGE

Since Ibanag is spoken in various local communities in the provinces of Isabela and Cagayan, they are truly remarkable in the use of the language whether spoken or written. Due to the length of many Ibanag word, which are the result of suffixes and additions, due to the difference in stress and pronunciation in words that have the same letter but differs in meaning and function in sentence, it often happens that there are not just one but up to two or three stress in a word. The use of the stress cannot be avoided, Ibanag language must be prepared to be clear to the knowledge of non-Ibanag who will use it. The main purpose of this research is to assess the correct pronunciation of the Ibanag words and to determine the problem in codification of the written and spoken Ibanag language. In this study, the descriptive method was used to analyzed the pronunciation of Ibanag language that will be interpreted. The qualitative method was used in interview, document analysis and actual participation and observation, natural occurring talk of Ibanag people in different occasions or activities.
