The research utilized a quasi-experimental design, involving two distinct groups of students: the control group, which followed the traditional online lecture-discussion approach, and the experimental group, which was taught using online differentiated instruction. To assess the students’ learning progress, both groups completed pretests and posttests. The results revealed that both groups scored low on the pretest, indicating a similar starting point in their understanding of the subject matter. However, upon administering the posttest, both groups showed improvement, but the experimental group significantly demonstrated a better performance than controlled group.. This suggests that the online differentiated instruction strategy had a more substantial positive impact on student learning compared to the traditional method. Further analysis of the mean gain scores between the two groups revealed that the experimental group demonstrated larger improvement than the control group. This highlights the effectiveness of differentiated instruction, particularly when applied online, in enhancing students' academic performance in Filipino Language and Culture. While both groups showed progress after the instructional sessions, the experimental group, which was exposed to the modern, student-centered approach of differentiated instruction, exhibited greater gains compared to the traditional lecture-based approach. In conclusion, the findings from the pretest and posttest results, along with the mean gain scores, suggest that differentiated instruction is a highly effective teaching strategy for improving student learning in Communication and Research in Filipino Language and Culture. The study highlights the importance of employing differentiated instructional methods, particularly in the context of online learning during the "new normal," where diverse learning needs must be addressed. By tailoring instruction to meet the varying needs of students, whether online or through other modalities, differentiated instruction significantly enhances the learning experience and outcomes, offering a more effective way to support students' academic growth and success in an evolving educational landscape.</p>2025-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Arts, Sciences and Educationhttps://ijase.org/index.php/ijase/article/view/431MULTISENSORY APPROACH IN TEACHING STUDENTS WITH READING CHALLENGES2025-04-03T09:21:34+00:00John Paul Espino19janpol81@gmail.com<p>This research, "Multisensory Approach in Teaching Students with Reading Challenges”, investigates the effectiveness of the multisensory approach in enhancing reading abilities among Grade 9 students of Isulan National High School. The research employed an R&D (Research and Development) design. Two groups of students, 10-Gold and 10-Sapphire, were identified using complete enumeration sampling as respondents to determine their learning styles, which served as the basis for the development of the multisensory worktext. The study also assessed the level of acceptance of the developed worktext by both the students and the teachers. Based on the survey results identifying learning styles, it was discovered that a significant number of students preferred a visual learning style. The developed worktext was also highly accepted by both the students and the teachers. The multisensory worktext was also highly accepted by experts who evaluated its validity. The study further revealed that there was no significant correlation between learning styles and student acceptance of the worktext's quality. There was no significant relationship between the three learning styles and the developed worktext, except for the kinesthetic style. The kinesthetic learners showed slightly lower acceptance of the worktext's format and a lower acceptance of its originality, particularly when combined with an auditory learning style. The level of acceptance of the developed worktext was significantly higher among students than among teachers, due to the teachers' lower acceptance of the clarity and originality of the multisensory worktext. Therefore, the teacher's resourcefulness and creativity in preparing teaching materials such as multisensory worktexts and their use in instruction have a positive impact on students' academic learning and performance.</p>2025-03-31T00:00:00+00:00Copyright (c) 2025 International Journal of Arts, Sciences and Educationhttps://ijase.org/index.php/ijase/article/view/413A Validity and Reliability of the SOLO-Based Assessment in Language Proficiency of Incoming Seventh-Grade Students2025-04-02T02:01:52+00:00Jeriel Caracoljeriel.caracol@deped.gov.phGracelyn Altayagracelynaltaya@sksu.edu.ph<p>This study evaluates the validity and reliability of the SOLO-Based assessment in measuring the language proficiency of incoming seventh-grade students.
